Indian Women Scientist’s Association (IWSA) Roorkee organised third Vijaya Agarwala Memorial Maths Olympiad (VAMMO-4) wherein more than 1100 students from 21 schools of Roorkee and over 700 students from 14 schools of Haridwar.
Notably this is the first intercity Maths Olympaid for school children for classes VI to IX of Roorkee and Haridwar organised in IWSA in the memory of their founder member Dr Vijaya Agarwala since January 2017.
The event coordinator Dr Rama Mehta in Roorkee said that the VAMMO-4 is extended second time to Haridwar as intercity examination after the big success of VAMMO 3. The examination was simultaneously held at Roorkee centre -Greenways School-1 Roorkee and Haridwar centre – Maa Saraswati Public School Haridwar on 29th December 2020.
The event coordinator from Haridwar Manika Saraswat said, “Various Research Scholars, MTech Students from IIT Roorkee and teachers from colleges and schools, renowned doctors and professionals from different walks of life from both cities rendered their volunteer services to make the event a grand success.” Raghavendra Agarwala, the son of late Dr Vijaya Agarwala also joined as volunteer and appreciated all IWSA members for holding it as grand event with success.
The coordinators along with Secretary Neeta Mittal and Ekta Panwar informed that 5 students of each class shall be felicitated in the award function which would be held on 25th January 2020 at IIT Roorkee.
IWSA members Dr Indu Mehrotra (President), Kiran Handa, Dr Sunita Ghakkar, Asha Chandra, Dr Mini and Sparsha meticulously planned and executed the test.
