On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi hoisted the flag at the Secretariat.
All the officers, employees and citizens of the state have to take a pledge to make Uttarakhand the number one state by working as a team – Chief Secretary
Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi hoisted the flag in the presence of officers and employees at the Secretariat and wished everyone on the 78th Independence Day. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Smt Raturi planted saplings in the Secretariat premises and distributed saplings to school children.
Addressing the flag hoisting program, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi said that it is a matter of great joy for all of us that India has completed 77 years as an independent country. An empowered democracy and peaceful system has been established in our country in the last 77 years. We Indians are fortunate to live under a constitution that gives equal rights to everyone. We should understand the value of our freedom. Even today, we face many challenges like poverty, gender inequality, which we have to face successfully.
Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi said that Uttarakhand has been ranked first by NITI Aayog in Sustainable Development Goals Ranking . This is a matter of pride for all of us. This is an achievement of all of us. We all have to maintain this first position together. We have to take a pledge to make Uttarakhand the number one state by working as a team.
On the occasion of flag hoisting in the Secretariat, all officers, employees and other citizens were present.
