Today, International Mother’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the social organization Anandam at a hotel in Shivalik Nagar, Haridwar. A large number of women participated in the event, and various cultural programs were presented. The program was conducted by the main coordinator, Mrs. Rita Awasthi, and presided over by Shyam Sundar Awasthi, President of Anandam.In his presidential address, Shyamsunder Awasthi stated that a mother’s place is even higher than that of God, as she is the mother of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. He added that if there were no mother, the universe would not have been created. Therefore, we should worship and bow to our mother.Rita Awasthi said that the place of mother is the highest in the society, mother is the first school which provides values to its children, she said that women should also pay attention to themselves and come forward to work for establishing moral values in the society because mother is the creator of the society.Sarvesh Gupta, former president of the Senior Citizens Forum, said that Anandam has made a good beginning by celebrating International Mother’s Day in Haridwar, which will strengthen women’s empowerment. Mehtab Alam said that by residing at the feet of a mother and serving parents, one can visit all four holy places, so respect your parents.The program began with a Ganesh Vandana by Prabha Sharma. Senior writer and journalist Mahtab Alam enthralled the audience with songs on Mother Ganga and patriotic songs sung by renowned film singers Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar. Geeta Nair, Shreeja Tripathi, and Meenakshi Chawla presented a captivating performance of the comedy play “Jaanu Kuch To Kaho.” A young girl, Garvita, a Class 5 student at DPS Ranipur, captivated everyone with her impressive dance performance of the Shiva Tandava Stotra. Ranjana Verma also performed a beautiful dance. The Awasthi couple, Shyamsunder Awasthi and Rita Awasthi, captivated everyone with their comedy play. Yogesh Gupta presented a comedy play and an emotional poem on Mother Earth. Ravikant Gupta also recited a poem on Mother Earth. Shreeja Tripathi and her son, Anurup Tripathi, captivated the audience with a song on Mother Earth. Program coordinator Rajendra Agarwal expressed his gratitude. Present at the event were Sarvesh Gupta, former president of Senior Citizens Forum, and H.N. Gupta, a senior retired officer and former General Manager of BHEL.
